Luckily for you, “The Grid® Report for ERP Systems | Fall 2021" by G2, has been released a few days ago and this article summarizes the key findings of the report with a special focus on the customer satisfaction ratings. So, lets start!

#1 Is the product going in the right direction?

An ERP application is the core system in an organization. In majority of companies, the lifespan of an ERP application tends to be around a decade. Therefore, when evaluating an ERP it is natural to choose an ERP vendor with a clear vision for the product’s future.

When it comes to Dynamics 365 Business Central, it is disappointing to see that one third of the customers feel that the product is not going in the right direction and the company does not have a clear vision for the future of the product. On the other hand, almost all customers of VIENNA Advantage ERP (91%) tend to agree that the product is going in the right direction.

#2 Does the product meet your requirements?

Depending on the business vertical or the industry in which a company operates, there are specific requirements that an ERP solution should address. Thus, another important question you should ask yourself when evaluating an ERP solution is whether the product will meet those requirements.

The picture above shows that significantly higher number of customers agree that VIENNA Advantage ERP (87%) meets business requirements better, compared to Dynamics 365 Business Central (75%).

#3 How easy is to use the product?

This is another important factor when evaluating an ERP solution. Why? Well, think of how much time a new user needs to learn the software? How this affects the overall company productivity? Are there any indirect costs related to the longer learning curve?

Basically, more intuitive user interface leads to shorter learning curve, easier and more productive use of the ERP solution — which eventually has positive impact on administrative costs and workforce productivity.

Most of VIENNA Advantage users (87%) find the ERP solution easy to use compared to 69% of the Dynamics 365 Business Central customers.

#4 Is the quality of support good enough?

Almost all of VIENNA Advantage customers (93%) agree that the quality of the support is exceptionally good. On the other hand, significantly lower number of customers (69%) could say the same thing about Dynamics 365 Business Central.

#5 Would you recommend the product to others?

The likelihood of recommending the product to others is another important qualitative factor when comparing the customer satisfaction. The more satisfied the customer is from the product, the higher the chances to recommend it to others.

Following the numbers form the previous sections it was expected that VIENNA Advantage ERP would be the more favorable alternative. Customers are more likely to recommend VIENNA Advantage ERP (88%) to others compared to Dynamics 365 Business Central (71%).

Bottom line

Today, digital disruption is affecting practically every business sector, and hence, visionary executives are leaning towards transforming their companies to stay relevant in their markets and to enjoy a competitive advantage.

To most companies, this involves the modernization of their core ERP platform. Bud sadly, many executives would still favor well known ERP brands ignoring the red flags presented to them. These unpopular decisions would result in millions of dollars spent and several years lost. Most recent examples of such bad decisions are the famous SAP S/4 HANA failures.

The process of ERP evaluation should be taken very seriously! Depending on the specific requirements of your industry or the nature of your business different criteria should be included in your evaluation. Whatever criteria you choose, it is always important to stay as objective as possible and give a fair chance to all ERP solutions on your list.
